Getting Your Beabull Puppy To Take A Pill

Visits to the vet are usually simple with check-ups coming back clean and everyone going home happy. But there may be some time when you're going home with a bottle of pills and no idea how to give them to your Beabull puppy without making it a terrible experience for you both.

Out of Sight, Out of Taste

Tricking your Beabull puppy into eating his pill is the best and easiest way to get him to take his medicine. Find your pup's favorite little treat and hide his pill inside of it, such as cheese, lunch meat or piece of hot dog. Make sure the food is large enough to hide the pill but small enough that your dog barely has to chew - the less he has to chew, the better the chances of him not finding it.

Peanut Butter & Pill

As we all know, Beabull puppies are very smart and have their strong Beagle sense of smell. With those two things alone, your pup may easily pick up on the hot dog or cheese routine. If that's the case, try hiding the pill in something he can hardly resist - like peanut butter! Use just a small amount to cover the pill. This is also a much cheaper option as well.

Beabull puppies love to eat and will try just about anything once. Maybe you don't want to teach him to like "people food". Don't worry! You can still get his medicines. Try smashing down the pill with a spoon and sprinkling it over his food. There are also pill pockets on the market that are small treats to hide pills.

Having your Beabull puppy on medication is never a fun experience. But giving your pup his medicine can be enjoyable for both of you!
