Grain-Free Natural Premium Holistic Healthy Dog Food

This article is a comparison of Taste of The Wild dry kibble dog food.  Right off the bat you are drawn to the product from the packaging that looks like it is out of the Jack London book: The Call of the Wild; likely on purpose. Looking at the picturesque packaging on the dry dog food is like looking at a piece of artwork. The pictures are predators hunting their prey. This plays very well into the grain-free / high protein diet that the company promotes and provides.

All Taste of the Wild products are manufactured in the USA. They have three facilities; one located in each of the following states: California, Missouri and South Carolina. This is where they produce their four different formulas that they presently have. All of them are grain-free; produced from unique protein sources, fruits, vegetables, and natural antioxidants. Importantly all of the protein meals are sourced from vendors that do not use ethoxyquin.

Ethoxyquin is a quinoline-based antioxidant used as a food preservative. It is however also used as a pesticide! It has been shown to be slightly toxic in fish and there is speculation that it may be responsible for multiple health problems in pets who have consumed it. Monsanto, the producer of the compound, claims that it is completely safe.

The four dog kibbles that Taste of The Wild produces are as follows:
