Dealing With A Lonely Dog

27 9:02:06
Here is the biggest irony: dogs are very sociable creatures they love to be around the pack and other people and yet dog owners try to make them domesticated animals, usually leaving them in homes while they try to have fun elsewhere. In case you do not know, dogs can also suffer depression due to extreme loneliness.

If you want your dog to remain healthy physically, mentally, and emotionally, make sure you can include the following tips in your dog training:

1. Spend as much time as you can with him. It does not matter if it is going to be really short. The most important thing is you can let him know that you are there and that he can always run to you for play or whenever he needs some comforting in your loving arms. Dogs are sensitive animals. They would know it right away.

2. Bring him to social functions. Make sure that you can also introduce your dogs to your friends and even to other dogs. Watch out for parties and other social functions that will allow you to bring him. This will be a chance for you to offer your dog a completely new and fun environment. It will also be helpful for you too. This way, you can gauge if you can take your dog with you during your other activities. Moreover, you can also train your dog how to get rid of the one-man-dog syndrome. This is a situation when your dog would not like to be near anybody else but you.

3. Let him sleep in your room. He does not have to really share the bed with you. You can just simply keep his dog bed at the foot of your bed or at the corner. What you are trying to do here is to make him feel your presence as well as to strengthen the bond that you have for each other.

4. Take your dog for a walk. Exercise is key to helping your dog remain healthy. You will be basically killing two birds with one stone. One he will be getting the exercise that he needs. Then two he will be spending time with you. You will be amazed at how well a 15 minute to half hour walk will help your dog.

With proper dog training, as well as undergoing several dog training programs, you can immediately correct the dog behavior of whining, which is often a sign that he needs your attention desperately.
