Bad odor prevents the pet owner from bringing the dog indoor and allowing it to sleep on bed. Well now it is very easy to remove bad odor from the dog"s body.

Find out the reason for bad smell

First step is to find out a reason for bad smell, there can be many reasons for this. It may be a possibility that the dog has rolled on some feces or decayed matter and this is why it smells bad. Part the dog"s skin and see if it has developed any wound, if the wound has become very severe then it is possible that it smells due to this.

Another reason for the pooch smelling bad could be a dirty fur. It has not been given bath for a number of days and this is why it smells horrible.

What to avoid during this situation

The easiest thing that a pet lover does during this time is to spray the pet with all types of deodorizer, nowadays there are deodorizers which are meant for pets as well. This is a very wrong approach and it makes the pet unhealthy.

It does not matter to which extent it has been advertised regarding the benefits of using a pet deodorizer, it must be seen if its solves the problem. The underlying cause has to be removed for making the pet odor free.

What to do to remove the odor

The best solution during this time is to bath the dog with a good dog shampoo. Shampoo meant for humans is not suitable for dogs at any cost as the pH level is very high in these shampoos.

  • One has to buy a good shampoo and a conditioner depending on the dog"s fur

  • Firstly wet the dog completely and start with shampooing its head first. Then gradually move to the rest of its body and massage the shampoo properly.

  • Wait for at least 3 minutes before you start washing the pooch. Use warm water and rinse the pooch properly.

  • After this apply some conditioner and massage it all over its body. Wait for again 2 minutes and then wash it properly.

  • Conditioner is very soapy so you need to rinse the pooch properly.

  • Wipe it well with a towel and then use a dryer to dry its fur. Keep the dryer away from its fur so that it does not get direct heat.

Some precautions to keep the dog clean

  • Always keep the pooch net and clean

  • Train the pooch in such a manner that it does not roll over dirt and dirty places

  • If it is not possible to bath the pooch every day then at least wipe it with a wet cloth after every two days.

So follow these measures and your pooch will smell great.
