Training your puppy to be a useful and likable companion is a very rewarding experience. The foundation of training is establishing communication between you and him. Dog treats are a valuable resource in his communication training.
It is important the puppy’s training starts out on a positive note. He needs to learn that he can trust you and that you can communicate with him. Your helper will release the puppy. If he doesn’t immediately come, gently tug on the rope and pull the puppy to ward you. When he reaches you, pat him and praise him. Make your training sessions short and interesting. Use commands that are easy for him to hear. Short words such as �Come�, �Go�, �No�, or �Stay� work well. Always use the same word for the same command. Don’t change the tone of voice that the command is given. Dogs respond to not only words but also to voice tone.
