How Do You House Train A Dog

27 16:24:33
Dogs have to go same as you and me, only difference being that they have to go more often, probably as much as 8 times in a day. It is essential that you start house training’ your pup right away and not wait until later on. It is one thing to find that your dog takes to your new futon for a different reason but something else to find the mess on your bed. I do not think that I have to state that a dog’s poo smells a lot worse than anything else and no amount of washing is going to get rid of it in a short while. So for starters, take some time and effort to house breaking’ your dog in and believe me, you will be happy that you did so. Here are a few pointers to help answer the question how do you house train a dog’. These pointers have been developed from the Adam G. Katz methods and I have listed them out here to help you along.

1.Get the crate Using the crate is an efficient way of housebreaking your dog, remember not to leave him in the crate all the time and to take him out every now and then. The key is to remember that pups tend to go as they get the need, so make a note of the time that they go. Yeah, sure, sounds like the perfect job, to make a note of the time your dog decides to take a tinkle. But hey, if you want your housebreaking method to be effective, you would need to do this. At the same time, carpet the living room with paper or something else, so that your carpets do not face permanent damage. That said, a pup would be less likely to go in his living room’ and will learn to bark when he needs to be let out to go.

2.Be firm Make sure that your dog understands that it is not acceptable for him to use your drawing room or any other part of your home as his toilet bowl. You must not yell at your dog for that method will not have the desired effect, in the sense that you may end up scaring him from going in your presence. So make it a point to take your dog immediately outside when you think that it is time for him to go and when he does so, reward him with a treat. In time, he will get the message.

3.The dinner bell like I said, your dog may need to go as much as 8 times in a day. So make sure that he gets his lunch and dinner early, no later than 7 pm, so that you can take him for his late night excursion and head off to bed. At least, in this way, you can rest easy without having to wonder whether you are going to find a nasty package waiting for you on the kitchen floor.

House training is not going to be an easy process, for you or for your dog. Remember, that your dog is probably as confused as you are, especially if you start yelling at him every time he takes a leak inside. So handle this part of his training with patience and with the help of Adam G. Katz methods, you should be able to housebreak your pup in no time at all.
