The NCMA or the national Contract Management Association offers the CPCM exam to contract managers within the government and private sector. Receiving the Certified professional contract management credential is an accreditation that the candidate has displayed the highest standards in education, training, skill, experience, and contract management competencies as per the NCMA’s Contract Management Body of Knowledge.

Who can take the CPCM?
CPCM requires that the candidate be a Contract manager who has a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field. The candidate is required to exhibit exceptional educational and professional mastery of the competencies of contract management as per the CMBOK or the contract management book of knowledge. Along with all this you as a candidate are required to have 120 hours (CPE) of continuing education along with the five year experience.

CPCM exam Administration and Structure
The Certified professional contract manager or CPCM exam is offered through the Kryterion Learning Centers every week. NCMA local chapters offer the CPCM exam as well as through NCMA conferences.

CPCM exam is competency based with all questions in the multiple choice objective type format. Some questions might be scenario based. The time awarded for completing the test is a total of four hours. The exam consists of 180 questions and encompasses the following competencies from the CMBOK.
�Pre-Award (35 questions)
�Acquisition Planning/Strategy (34 questions)
�Post-Award (35 questions)
�Specialized Knowledge Areas (32 questions) and
�Business (44 questions)
The candidate is required to at least get 70% questions right to attain the CPCM certification.
