In the last few years, cat spraying has become more recognized as a treatable problem. Many cats spray for a variety of physical and behavioral reasons, so take your cat to the veterinarian to determine which is the problem in your cat's case. While cat spraying is a simple behavior, it can lead to serious problems in cat owners' homes unless it is stopped.

The easiest and the most common way for a pet owner to stop a male cat spraying is to have them neutered. Neutering will lesson the chance that your male cat will continue to spray. There are some cat owners who for whatever reason are against the neutering of their male cats.

Some cat owners feel that the actual action of neutering a cat is inhumane and feel that they should not ever subject their pets to such cruel treatment. For people that feel that hurting their cats and preventing them from breeding and have additional cute little teeny baby kittens there are other options that they may be able to utilize in lieu of having their little baby kittens neutered.

On the other hand, some people feel that they have some particular issues which would create a serious problem if they neutered their male cats. For example, some pet owners who have kittens also have the intention of breeding their kittens once they have grown into cats.

This is also the case for cat owners, who want to breed their male cat. Behavior modification is an option you have to think about under these circumstances.

When you have situations that are prohibiting you from being able to neuter your cat and thus to prevent the cat from spraying all over your house, other techniques need to be utilized in order to prevent them from spraying inside your house. The spraying can get ridiculous when it is all over your furniture, clothes, and your rugs and carpets. This does not even mention the smell and the fact that the stains can be really gross looking.
