5 Cat Aggression Warning Signs

27 12:15:56
Does your cat strike without warning? Do you feel that you don't understand your cat? Well, many cat owners have this problem. Cats will only take so much before they decide they've had enough. When they bite or scratch you to let you know they don't want to play anymore.

This can pose a serious problem if they do it frequently especially to young kids and guests in your home. This bad cat behavior has to stop and while there are many different ways to stop cat aggression it's best to catch it before it starts.

If you do this they won't feel the need to strike. Understanding cat language will help you predict what you're cat is thinking. Here are the 5 signs that your cat just wants a little alone time:

Clear Yet Subtle Warnings

1. Their Ears

Your cats ears will go flat to their head when they are losing the temper. Watch for this and any of these others signs and stop what you're doing immediately. Give you cat some space and come back later.

2. Their Tail

Your cat sometimes moves their tail for other reasons. However, a cat thrashing their tail is a clear warning of about to lose my patience. Again just take a step back and come back later.

3. Their Eyes

When your cat is feeling threatened their pupils will drastically change size. They have dilated pupils when they feel you are threatening them and constricted pupils when they are treatening you.

Not So Subtle Warnings

4. Growling or Hissing

This a sign that you're getting on their last nerve and should be avoid at all costs. They are not in the mood to play anymore. Leave them alone immediately.

5. Belly Up

This is a attack position. This is so all four of the weapons, their paws, are ready to attack. Do not touch them in this position. Let them cool down and then try playing or giving them affection later.

Remember these 5 warning signs and you, your family, and house guests should be "A" OK. Plus, your cat gets their space and you two will have a stronger relationship when you aren't afraid of being attacked anymore.
