Waves Of Grief Over The Loss Of Your Cat

27 17:50:44
The loss of your cat can be one of the most devastating things you ever have
to go through.

It's not abnormal to find yourself walking around in a daze, not knowing what
hit you or how to deal with your pain.

Cat loss and grieving over what no longer exists can be extreme. It may feel
as if your security has been ripped out from under you.

When coping with the loss of your cat, it’s helpful to remember that grief
comes in waves.

One hits you and knocks you over. You pick yourself up and start to gain your
balance again and another rolls over you and knocks you off your feet.

It may be when you come home and no one greets you. It may be when you sit in
your favorite chair and no one jumps into your lap or rubs against you and
purrs.

It could be when you sit down to eat and find yourself alone, or when you
open a cupboard and see your cat’s food.

Know that with time the periods between waves of grief over your cat’s
death will lengthen and the force of their impact will diminish.

Time does heal many wounds, but when coping with the loss of your cat, be
sure to be extra gentle with yourself and apply as much tender loving care as
possible.

Coping with cat loss can be one of the most challenging things you ever go
through. But you can meet this challenge and come out stronger on the other
side with the help of sympathetic friends and the right tools.
