Pet Pain | Cat Arthritis | Dog Arthritis

It is completely natural for a dog or cat to hide pain, so when your pet is suffering with anything like Osteoarthritis, joint swelling or just joint pain, they may not be showing any signs of pain what so ever.

The AAHA/AAFP Pain Management Guidelines have decoded and recorded the signs that animals show when in pain with ways to relieve it.

It is a natural instinct for an animal not to show pain so that they can hide any problems away from predators. This could mean that your pet is in pain, but showing no signs to the untrained eye.

We are now by far better prepared for seeing these signs due to all the advancements in veterinary science. What they have managed to do is decode the signs that most animals give off when suffering or in distress.

Spending a small amount of time and observing your animals behaviour is vital when it comes down to following the guidelines for pain management. So if you are a big lover of your animal, you will find that how well you know your pet will denote the telltale signs if he or she is suffering.

There are many things to look for in an animal which will give you sufficient indication of the animals health, and below I have noted the signs for your observation.

But, you must always remember that if you find your animal in distress, always consult a professional veterinary or animal welfare official.

Some of the basic signs for when an animal is in distress or imense pain are as follows.

1) Abnormal Chewing Habits
2) Drastic Weight Fluctuation
3) Avaoiding Affection or Handling
4) Decreased Movement
5) Refusing To Exercise
6) Unusual Accidents

There are a lot of reasons for any of the above signs, and some of these I have included in further articles submitted to the site.

One of the products that has been around for many years and is reported to give great pain relief to your pet is naturally built up from many different growing plants.

So whatever you decide to do, always keep the natural source in mind when looking for resolves, and if you have purchased anything prior to speaking to a veterinary make sure you mention what it is that you have been giving them as this may have a reason for countering the drugs you get from the Veterinary.

Many pets suffer in silence, don't let it be one of yours!
