Cat Exam Date:iims Launch Updated Cat 2011 Website: Check Out Now!

As announced by Indian Institute of Management Calcutta on Monday, July 25, 2011, the CAT IIM website has been updated today, August 8, 2011.

The website www.catiim.in has undergone several updates. It mentions that the Registration will start shortly, from Wednesday, August 17, 2011. Let us have a look at the additions and features of the website for the CAT 2011 takers:

Videos
The website has launched the videos on CAT 2011 Registration & Scheduling and CAT Test Day Procedures. These short videos have been created to prepare candidates on the registration and scheduling process as well as test day procedures. If you have limited connectivity and cannot view the videos, you can call +91 124 451 7178 to listen to a short recording.

Test duration and pattern
CAT 2011 will have two sections. The first section will be Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation and the second section will be Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning. You will get 70 minutes for each section with 30 questions. There will be an on-screen countdown timer. You can review the answers of one section within the 70 minutes. Once the time ends for the first section, you will move to the second section and will no longer be able to go back.

A 15-minute tutorial will be provided before the start of the test, and you are advised to go through that carefully before starting the main exam. The total duration will be two hours and thirty five minutes including the tutorial.

At the test venue, you will be seated at a desk with a computer terminal and will be provided with a scratch paper for calculations. After the test, candidate must leave the scratch paper at the desk. Rough work cannot be done on any other paper/sheet, as nothing will be allowed inside the testing room. No breaks will be given during the test.

CAT 2011 Practice Test
You can take the practice test for CAT 2011 new pattern. This will give you the details on the navigation and test format. Taking the practice test will give you the simulated feel of the actual CAT 2011 exam. It is advised for you to take the test to be better prepared for the new format and the paper.

CAT 2011 Test Sites
You can get the entire list of the test centers from where you can take the test. These test sites are located in 36 cities across India. This year, three new cities have been added to the list of previously existing cities, which are Bhilai, Jammu and Dehradun.

CAT 2011 Development & Scoring
This section gives a description on how the test is developed, the difficulty level equated, scoring process, about the test difficulty, fairness and equivalency in the exam etc.
