Question
I have a small papillion and I am flying soon from Denver to Las Vegas and carrying him on. The airline is asking for a certificate of health and a rabies certificate. How much do these usually run and what exactly do they want? there is not alot of information available. Thanks for your help.

Answer
I think whatever state you live in requires rabies vaccination.  You should have received a certificate at the time of the vaccination.  For the certificate of health, that should be no more than a regular office call.  If you go back to the veterinarian that did the rabies shot, likely you will not be charged for a duplicate certificate, or at least only a small fee.  If your dog is over due for a rabies shot, it could be 25-$50.  If it is over due for several shots, it could go over $100.  It is good the airline is allowing the dog in the cabin.  It is much safer there than when the airlines insist on the cargo hold.
