Question
I have  4 cats and I am moving to Italy from the US. Is flying safe for pets? Do you have any reccomandation that could be useful to me? Is a tranquillizer suggested or not? How much and when should I feed them? Is it bettere to have them travel in the cabin?
Thanks for your attention,
Elisa Nicoletti

Answer
Hi
I never allow drugging animals, they need to know what is going on in a sound mind to deal with it.  Never has been a problem for me importing dogs from Germany little puppies too.  Feed couple hours before u leave so they can poopy, water of course as they will have nothing on the plane, but u must have two dishes in each crate.  You might be able to take a smaller one on board with you if u ask the airlines.  It is very safe to fly animals now, used to be very bad.  I feel good about it so do not worry have all shots to date a health certificate good for ten days and rabi shots.  Good luck and enjoy.
