Question
hi there I'm emigrating at the beginning of next year and I've read that I might need some paperwork from the local health authority for my dogs is this true and if so what do I need to fill in and where can I find it plus can it be done before they travel, I know about the health certificate from my local Vet but do I need anything else or can I just put them on  plane and pick them up the other end and take them home?
Cheers Rick

Answer
Hi Rick,

Thanks for your inquiry.  You don't mention where you will be coming from but all that is required for importing a pet into the US at this time, from any country, is a health certificate and a current rabies vaccination.  If you go to your vet they should have a health certificate template on file.  Depending on the country you are in, there should be a government vet that you can then take the certificate to and have it endorsed.

That will be all that is required for importing you pet to the US.

Please let me know if I can assist you further!

Kind regards,
Rachel Farris
