QuestionRachel, I am planning on flying from California to the US Virgin Island with my 2 year old English Bulldog. I have been reading many discouraging things about flying with snub nosed pets and with the hot temperatures I am very worried. I want to make sure my dog is safe before I fly with him. Do you have any suggestions or know of any specialty airlines that deal with snub nosed animals?? Thanks!
AnswerHi Becky,
Thanks for your email. Unfortunately, the only way to get an English Bulldog to USVI would probably be to charter a jet, as you will probably have to bring him in the plane with you. He is too big to travel in the cabin on commercial airlines. We can set up a charter flight for you but it will likely be upwards of $20,000. Please contact me if this is a viable option for you.
Unfortunately, due to their delicate nature, no commercial airline will accept him as cargo. It is probably better that way but it still puts pet owners in a tricky situation.
Kind regards,
Rachel Farris
