Question
In a couple of months I'll be getting a long-haired chihuahua, and having all the usual injections/spatering/etc. done. However, I am moving abroad in about a year and am wondering how I would get here to the next country (Greece, if that helps), how much it would cost etc. I've seen people wondering around airports with small dogs, sometimes in bags, so is this that a possible way to take them with you? Also, if living in an apartment, how do you manage when the dog needs to be let out to do its "business"?

Answer
Dear Sofia
Sorry.  I am NOT a dog behaviorist or trainer, so can not address
those questions.
Are you in the USA?  If so, you will need to meet the European Union
requirements for Greece.
Microchip, rabies vac at least 30 days old and less than 1 yr at
time of travel.  APHIS international health cert issued within
10 days of travel and endorsed by usda.  Also, EU form 998 which
will be bi-lingual English-Greek and endorsed by usda.
Check with whatever airline you are traveling on to take dog as
excess baggage. Much cheaper and would clear customs with you.
The airline will address their charges.
Hope this helps.  Let me know
