Question
I am going to be relocating to the US with my cocker spaniel puppy in late september. I have been looking into flying directly Paris-Boston to avoid layovers and to keep the trip as quick as possible for him. He will be about 9-10 months old at the time and will weigh 9 or 10 kgs. I have read HORRIBLE things about flying with dogs, keeping them in the holds, them dying, or being lost. The only airline which I haven't heard these things about is AIRFRANCE, so I was considering them, but am wondering what are the other SAFER options? I am horrified, and am considering not relocating, which will be extremely difficult for me, but I am not willing to take a risk with my dog, nor am I willing to live without him. He has the microchip, has his rabies shot, and all vaccines. What else will he need? And most importantly, can someone please inform me of the SAFEST and least traumatic way for my puppy to travel. Is there such a thing as a boat service that we could take together? Thank you in advance.

Answer
Dear Deirdre
I am sorry, but I, and other pet shippers have answered this type
question just toooo many times.  Please.  Air shipping is totally
safe.  Air travel is the ONLY way.  ALL of the airlines are great.
I would not have been in business for 35 yrs if this were not a safe
industry!!!
For entry into USA: Health cert issued within 10 days of travel and
a valid rabies cert.  Ask the airline if they have any special
requirements.
Good luck, and STOP worrying
