Bringing Dog From India To UK

Question
Hello Jerry,  I have a Doberman who is currently at my house in Chennai, India where i have been working.  Unfortunately i have now been asked to leave the country due to Visa issues and my dog is left at the house.  He is 8 months old and had his first rabies shot at age 3 months in Feb 2008.  He has not been microchipped but i can arrange for that to be done asap.  I would like to bring him back to the UK but will do anything to avoid leaving such a large dog in quarantine for 6 months.   He obviously needs lots of exercise and he wont get it locked in a kennel.  Is it possible for me to bring him straight to the uk 6 months after his first rabies jab and not have to put him in quarantine.  Thanks very much your help it is most appreciated.  Kind Regards Greg

You MUST contact DEFRA in UK to deal with this issue.  NO  one else

There is a direct link to DEFRA from p. 4 of my: www.actionpetexpress.com
Sorry I can not be of more help.
