Importing pets from US to Saudi Arabia

Question
Jerry,  I did answer your original response question.  Here is my response to your again.

I am in the US, CA if that is needed.  How many pets are allowed in Saudi Arabia???

I have spoken to the Consulate, no help, I have spoken to USDA, no help,
referred back to Consulate, I have called Authentication Office, no help.  I am
on 10 different forums and no help.

I want to know if I can obtain the Saudi Approval now, which means I do need to
go through the certification by USDA, authentication by Authentication office
and approval by KSA Consulate.  How long is the approval good, 30 days? 60 days?
as my visa will be valid for 84 days from date of approval.  What is it for the
pets?  I will be flying on Lufthansa, do they on require the health certificate
to be certified, not authenticated, if I already have done this with the stamp
of approval by the KSA Consulate, or should I just wait and do it all 10 days
before I travel?

Answer
Saudi Arabia is a MOST pet UNfriendly place.  They are trying to tell
you to NOT bring your pets!!!!
Try the following:
www.saudivets.com
jedvet@saudionline.com.sa  tel: 966 2 691 2896
riyadhvet@zajil.net  tel 966 1 456 8736 fax 456 6736
khobarvet@sol.net.sa  tel 966 857 3079  fax 859 1408
Director of animal quarantine, Riyadh  tel 009661 401 1323
  fax  00 966 1 463 0018
Also, try: www.dkc.ae    info@dkc.ae    attn: Janet
This is in UAE but they seem to have info for KSA

Are you with the Govt?  Military?  Private?
Whatever, you should have some sponsor in RSA who should be able to
get info for you on the spot.  You are NOT going to RSA cold, are
you?
This is the best I can do.  If you can not get info from RSA
consulate, I certainly can not.
Everyone I work with for shipping to these strange places have some
contact already in the country who can help.....
Hope this helps
You have me confused with your terms: certified   authenticated  etc
The procedure is thus:  Get APHIS 7001 international health cert
or the Calif equivalent.  MUST be done by an accredited vet (by usda)
Then, sent to usda for endorsement.  Raised seal and signature.
Usually good for ONLY 10 days from date your vet signs.
May also need to go to RSA consulate.  I do not know.....
Rabies vac at least 30 days old and less than one year.  I highly
recommend microchip, even if not required.....
Even though NOT required, I strongly recommend getting the EU form
998 which is bi-lingual Eng-German which records microchip and rabies
info, and also endorsed by usda since you are flying Lufthansa.
