3-year rabies vaccination for Argentina

Question
Hi,

I will be traveling to Argentina in 2 weeks with my black lab. He received his 3-year rabies vaccination a little over a year ago. On the Argentina consular web site it says they require proof of rabies vaccination no more than 1 year ago and no sooner than 30 days. Will they accept his 3-year rabies vaccination. I am hoping the info on the consular web site is outdated since the 3 year vaccines are a newer invention.

Thanks!

Jeff

Answer
Hi Jeff,

In our experience in shipping pets there, as long as the rabies shot is valid and has not expired, then you should be fine.  Some countries will not accept a rabies shot that is over one year old even if it is a three-year vaccine, but in Argentina we have not had a problem with that so far.
We would recommend talking with a customs agent there on the ground to double check so that there are not any problems when you get there.

Cheers!
