taking my GSD from Cal to India

Question
I'm planning a 6 week trip from California to India (Thanksgiving till New yr) & am considering taking my 3 yr old german sheperd with me. 2 questions:
1. Which airlines are most dog freindly & would let me visit my pet during the intermediate layover?
2. Will my dog have to be in quarantine on re-entry in US? (She is registered with AKC & has all US shots/certs.)

Hi Sam,

Thanks for your inquiry. We typically advise people considering making short trips with their pets internationally to reconsider.  Unless you're moving for the duration of at least a year, it usually is not only cost prohibitive but difficult to take your pet for such a short amount of time.

With that being said, I can answer your two questions:  

1.  None of the airlines that handle pets going to or from India will allow you to visit your dog at the airport pet hotel during the layover.  This is for security reasons.  

2.  As for when you return, there is no quarantine currently for pets coming into the US from overseas.
