QuestionI plan to bring a cat to Canada when I finish my work in Afghanistan this September. The way back to Canada is quite complicated with transits at the airport in Peshawar, Pakistan; Dubai; Frankfurt; and a 3-day stay in Geneva. Then I fly to Canada from Geneva via Frankfurt. I know Canada only requires a rabies vaccination certificate for a cat to enter. What are the requirements for transiting the above countries and the 3-day stay in Switzerland? It is not possible to microchip the cat here in Afghanistan. Thank you.
AnswerYou're going to have a very difficult time stopping over in EU
countries or Switzerland. They will require: microchip and
blood lab work and at least a wait of 3 months. Not worth it
Contact the following firms in Doha and Dubai and make arrangements
to ship cat directly to Canada.
