Moving two cats from China to Norway

Question
I will soon be moving from China to norway. I want to take my two cats and
have looked into a pet transport company (worldcare pet Transport). The
main problem I have is that I'm not going straight to Norway. I'm going to
London to do a course. If I'm using a pet transport company door to door
service, do I have to be at Oslo airport to collect or sign for my girls, and also
should I trust the transport company to make sure the girls are as
comfortable as possible in transit - they are flying as cargo? It would be
possible to change my flights, but quite a lot more expense which I'm hoping
to avoid.

Answer
Dear Jeanette
I dare say the plans you have laid out above will end up costing you
thousands of dollars MORE than you need spend.
Though Norway is not a real member of the EU, they do follow much
in line Swedens policy of pet travel and entry.
You should contact the following, for entry requirements.  The cats
may face some quarantine and/or regular boarding;
Vestberg Quarantine Station   vestkara@online.no
and    SandiPet    jahn@blue-light.no   Sorry I do not have www for
these.
You should be able to arrange flights to Oslo via Lufthansa or KLM
from China yourself.  Also try British Air.  Also, SAS if available
and Air France
A pet shipper in China will destroy your bank account......
I am sure the cats will need: microchips   rabies vacs at least 30 days old and less than 1 yr.  Probably will need blood titre tests
as well.
These above firms should be able to advise you.  Also try Norway
embassy or consulate near you.
Do let me know how this works out for you
