QuestionI would like to bring 4 puppies of a rare breed, Perdiguero de Burgos, back to Georgia from Spain. Also maybe 1 adult bitch. Besides the dogs it will be me , my wife and our 4 year old daughter traveling. What do you recomend?
AnswerYou will want to try to bring dogs back as excess baggage. Much
cheaper and would clear customs with you.
Delta has a non-stop from Madrid to ATL However, depending upon
time of year, DL has hot outside temp embargoes. They can best
address this issue. You can fly Lufthansa, Air France or KLM via
their hub cities in europe. They do NOT have temp embargoes.
British Air would require pets to travel as cargo ONLY to transit

Entry into USA is very easy. Health cert issued within 10 days of
travel and rabies vacs. If the pups are too young for rabies vac,
don't worry. At most U.S. officials will have you sign papers
stating you will get them rabies vacs when they are old enough
