did the rules change?

Question
Hi,

I recently contacted Qatar airways regarding traveling with my persian cat from Bahrain to Washington DC as excess baggage. Unfortunately, they told me that there are new rules now in which they do not accept certain breeds of cats, like persian, himi's exotics, because they get really stressed out during the flight!!!
I asked them  if this new policy is implied by Qatar airways and only in Qatar airways, or is it from the US, but I was not given a sufficient answer!!

Are there any new policies from the USA aviation control not allowing certain breed types to be boarded?

thanks

Answer
Many airlines do in fact have restrictions regarding brachiocephalic cats and dogs.
This includes your cat....
There is indeed much higher risk regarding these type pets
If possible, taking pet into cabin might bypass these restrictions.
You should be able to ship on Lufthansa or KLM   You will need to check around.
This is NOT a country restriction, only airline.
Breathing is highly restricted in these breeds.
