Question
I want to take my Miniature Schnauzer to Italy from the US.  I want to fly from New Jersey?, Philadelphia? hopefully non stop to Rome. Do you know what airline will do this?  I am having a hard time finding one.  Also any tips would be helpful.  We are going for a job and will be there 5 months, and we have only 2 weeks to be on the plane to get there on time.  Thank you thank you for any help.

Answer
Dear Pat
Should be no problem with this.  Both Continental and Alitalia have non stop
flights from Newark to Rome.  Delta and American from JFK to Rome. And, United
has a non stop from Washington Dulles.  Only USAIR from Philadelphia, and they
do not carry pets on this flight
The little dog will need: microchip   rabies vac at least 30 days old and less
than 1 yr.  APHIS 7001 international health cert issued within 10 days of
travel and endorsed by usda.  Also, EU form 998  English-Italian which records
microchip and rabies info, and also endorsed by usda
The dog probably will be too big for cabin, so would travel as excess baggage
You would get all this info from the passenger reservation people of the
airline you travel on
Have a nice trip
