Taking 2 two months old puppies from the US to Brazil, how?

Hi, I was planning on flying to the US and pick up my 2 puppies (6 kg each) in Greesboro (North Carolina)with Delta airline, and after confirming it was no problem and buying my ticket, I made sure it was not a problem, and now they are telling me it is not possible to bring the dogs back to Brazil (Fortaleza) between the 15th May and the 15th September.
What am I supposed to do?
who should I talk to?
and which airline could take me and the puppies on board? or which airline can at least ship the dogs for me (even if I am not in the same plane)?

Suggest you contact pet shippers in Brazil.  visit: www.ipata.com   The foreign carriers usually
do not have temp embargoes.  Also, contact  Continental airlines as they do not have embargoes.
Carriers such as: Delta, American and United are subject to embargoes.
If you are flying back just to get the dogs, it may end up costing you more, than if you were to
have us ship the dogs to you.
