MY NAME IS HAROLD AND I HAVE JUST BOUGHT A HOUSE IN MIAMI, FLORIDA, AT THE PRESENT MOMENT I AM LIVING IN BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA AND I WAS BORN IN BRAZIL BUT DO HAVE ALL MY DOCUMENTS-RESIDENT DOCUMENTATION IN ARGENTINA BY THE WAY....I NEED TO TAKE WITH ME MY FOUR DOGS-VIA AIRPLANE OR BOAT AS THEY HAVE BEEN PART OF MY LIFE FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS...WHAT ARE THE LEGAL  WAYS TO DO IT PLEASE?
PS. I HAVE A FRIEND OF MINE WHICH IS AN AMERICAN CITIZEN AND CAN TAKE THE 4 DOGS WITH HIM TO MIAMI AS WELL. WHAT SHOULD I DO PLEASE?
MANY THNAKS HAROLD

ANSWER: For pets to enter USA is very easy.  You need a health cert issued within 10 days of travel and
a valid rabies vac. That is it!  No quarantine.
You give me no idea as to the type and size of dogs you have.  Try to bring dogs with you, or your friend, as excess baggage.  Much cheaper and they would clear customs with you.  You must
contact the airline of your choice.  The passenger reservation people.  The airline may have some
restriction as to the number of dogs at a time, and also the size, as ex bag.  They may need to
be shipped as cargo.  Much more expensive.  Again, you MUST deal with the airline at the origin
point.  No one in USA can do this for you

QUESTION: THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR KIND HELP. MY 4 DOGS ARE THE BRAZILIAN STREET DOGS-THE PAULISTINHA ONES AS WE CALL. THRE OF THEM WEIGHT BET. 15 TO 29 KILOS AND THE YOUNGSTER ONE 25 KILOS. NOT THE TREE FIRST MENTIONED ONES  ARE MEDIUM SIZE DOGS AND THE LAST ONE HAS THE LABRADOR SIZE.
PS. ARE THE BOXES SAFETY THAT AIRPLANE TAKE THEM WITH? SHOULD I ASK FOR A SPECIAL SERVICE? I WAS THINKING TAKING WITH ME BY BOAT TO MIAMI. PLEASE LET ME KNOW. ALL THE BEST
HAROLD

Answer
I really know nothing about the type of boat travel you might consider.  I do NOT think this
would be the best solution.  The health cert might expire during travel since it is only good for
10 days.
I know nothing about the breed of dogs you have.  The plastic shipping kennels are the best and
very safe.  If the airline only has wooden kennels available, they should be fine as well
