Question
Thanks for answering my last question. The information was great but another question has come up. I am an American citizen living in Spain and will be going to the US for a vacation. My dog has all the necessary shots and papers. I heard that upon entering the
US, my dog may be examined at the first point of entry. Do you know if this is true? I don't have any concerns about her health but I am arriving at night into the Boston airport and need to know whether an examiner will be available.   Thanks again.

Answer
In over 40 yrs I have never had a pet examined at the port of entry.  Yes, it could happen.
If the pet arrives with you as excess baggage, everything you need will be available for you and
the dog.  As cargo, sometimes cargo customs is not always immediately available.
Not to worry
