Flying within Canada with Puppy

Question
Hello,

I have a 17 week old Labradoodle who will be accompanying me from Ottawa to Charlottetown. I have a direct flight from Ottawa to Charlottetown and it is 1 hour and 30 minutes. Someone mentioned flying her, because she is still young, is unsafe. They said the trip would "traumatize" her at such at young age. What are your thoughts about flying a 17 week old puppy? I do travel a few times a year and have always planned on bringing her, but am now worried. What are some comfort measures I can take for her? Will flying traumatize my puppy?

Thank you very much for your help!

Answer
Who is the someone who advised you to not fly the dog?  Do they know anything?  Flying is
perfectly safe.  They can, and do, fly at 8 weeks.  She should not be traumatized.  Do NOT
sedate the dog.  Do NOT feed for at least 8 hours before travel, and NO food during travel.
Water of course is necessary.
Regards, Jerry
