Question
I'm new to having an aquarium sump but recently bought a 220 gallon reef set up to transfer my existing 90 gallon inhabitants to. This is my first sump and I'm not even sure how much water should be in it. Please help. I've included some photos to give you an idea as to where the water level is now

Answer
Hello Lindsay,

I didnt see any pictures, but, want to suggest you log onto my new forum at www.thelittleocean.com

That forum is much easier with regards to longer discussion, and for adding pictures... You can dd unlimited pictures over there..

We also have a live chat room over there so you can chat live with me or other members, if we are online at the same time... so we can set a time to chat or whatever...

btw, we have a couple members from up north, so you might be somebodies neighbor.,.. heheehe

anyways, i lood forward to talking with you more about your sump

Oh, and when we do, i want to know what type of display tank drain setup you have...  i.e. is it a built in 'over flow' box, or does it have a hang on tank drain with some type of U-tube setup???

Also, I would like to know you will want to 'return' the water back to the display tank... i.e. will the plumbing go from the pump up and OVER the top edge of the tank, then back down to the water and then a nozzle???

or

will the return plumbing come up inside the over flow box and thru the overflow box to a nozzle,

or

will there be holes in the back of the tank with a bulkhead and then a nozzle on the inside...

I will be glad to explain all that and whatever else you got over on www.thelittleocean.com
