Keep turtles in / around pond is good or not.

It really depends on a number of things such as:
1.  How big is the pond?
2.  What's in the pond?
3.  Which species of turtle are we talking about?
4.  Is the pond fenced?
5.  Do you like turtles?
6.  Do you mind if turtles eat a few small fish, snails, tadpoles, plants, etc. here and there?
