Question
I have a small in ground pond(15gals.).Live in So.Fla. Went out the
other night to find one very large Bufo and a large frog in the pond.
Can they eat my goldfish,or release any type of toxin into the
water? I have chicken-wire over the pond for now.
                                      Thank-you. C.Brownell

Answer
That is a small pond!  Toads don't normally eat fish but frogs will.  If you have the non-native Bufo marinus there, then they are very toxic if the fish tries to eat their eggs or tadpoles.  Hopefully, it's just a native species.  For more on toads, see http://www.fishpondinfo.com/toad.htm

I suggest building a bigger pond so the amphibians impact is greatly lessened!
Good luck!
