Filter

Hi there,

I'm planning to dig my own pond back of my house.
The pond size 9ft(L) x 3ft (W)x 2ft(D) .
How to build a inside filter that actually works inside the pond? If possible I thinking using one pump rather than two. Pls advice.

Btw, I had draw a diagram of my pond. If possible I would like to email it to you and let you have a look at it then you could able to advise me how to build up the filter.

Hi Kelvin,
Thanx for your question.  You don't have to build a filter that works inside the pond.  There are tons on the market at various parts.  Try pondmarket.com just for ideas.  Also, do a Google.com search for pond filters and you will have lots of material to look over.  I can't advise you how to build a filter as I am not an engineer but, I have used biological filters.  The last one I bought was around $130.00 but that was 10 years ago.  My guess is they are at least $200 or more now.  I don't have a mechanical mind so, I'm sorry I can't help you out in building a pump.  Most of these companies have a mechanism you can use that will tell how much of a pumping capacity you will need for your pond depending upon the dimensions of your pond.  I recommend using a liner as opposed to a preform.  Liners last longer.  I've had the same liner for about 10 years now and it is guaranteed for 20.  I hope this helps.
