Goldfish behaviour

Question
Hello, we have a pond in our garden we had some small goldfish in but have recently added some larger ones. My problem is that one of our smaller origional goldfish is following one of the new larger goldfish around.  It seems to be really harrasing it nudging and pushing it.  We do not know much about goldfish but the one that is being bullied has a large belly so we wondered if it could be pregnant and if this behaviour will do it any harm.

Also the larger fish was one of a pair and the smaller goldfish is chasing the other half of the pair away.
This goldfish has done this with other goldfish we have put in the pond is it normal or is it just a bully.  Please help thanks melody

Answer
The little goldfish that is doing the chasing is probably male.  The new large goldfish may be a female.  The little guy is so excited that he can't help himself whether or not the female is full of eggs yet or not.  Goldfish like to chase each other even when sex is not involved.  So, the chasing fish could sort of be a bully although probably male.  But, if the chasing is fast and pretty violent, it's probably spawning related.  Perhaps some baby fish are in your future.  There is a section on my web site about sexing goldfish at http://www.fishpondinfo.com/gfish3.htm
Good luck!
