Backyard pond and fish turtles together

Is 2 painted turtles and two plecos together in the pond o.k.? plenty of algae for the plecos!

Answer
Painted turtles may eat small fish but probably not plecos since they have spines.  Plecos die below 50 degrees F so if you live in a cold area, you'd have to bring them inside in the fall.  The plecos will eat green attached algae but don't like hair algae and can't eat suspended algae.  Here are some pages on my site that you may find useful.
