hellow i have a unlined pond. aprox 35%deep, my problem is the water is chocklety, i have plants, gold fish,turtles, arritor. everything is good . i cant see past 6" down. any possible answers? also periodically there is a oil like film over the surface. i live in ct. the pond is spring fed also fed by runoff by wooded area. thank you phone #203 314 2827 for any other questions. not on computer much

Unfortunately, an unlined pond is virtually impossible to clear.  With fish and turtles in it constantly stirring up the mud, and outside water constantly running into it, it won't ever completely clear.

Add a large quantity of floating plants like water hyacinths, water lettuce, or parrot's feather and it will help.

With outside water running into the pond, the oil film could be coming from anywhere.
