Question
i have two betta fish, one from each sex.ive had them for about two months but the male wont seem to make a bubble net.is there anything i can do so it can make it or should i just wait it out?

Answer
I too have a pair of bettas.  Mine are in the basement, and I've also had them just a few months.  My male hasn't made elaborate bubble nests but I have seen eggs about three times that he was tending in very small nests that he threw together at the last minute.  I didn't rescue the eggs so they were all eaten.  Interestingly, I had him for a month earlier than the female, and he made a lot of nests before I added her.  She may have messed them out.  How big is your tank with the bettas?  Mine are in a 20 gallon tub pond.  In small tanks, the bettas are just going to be pestering each other too much to probably breed.  The experts say to keep the pair separate before putting them together when he has bubbles, and she's fat.  Perhaps that's what you're doing?  If so, put the tanks so they can see each other.  What is the temperature?  Try 75 to 80 degrees F.  Feed them some live or frozen foods to condition them more such as live brine shrimp or frozen mosquito larvae.
