pond paint colors

We live in the Caribbean and have built a pond that will hold about 600 gals. of water.  We want to put Koi and some other fish, water hyacinths and water lilys.  What color would be best to use for this pond? We are considering grey, black darker blue or green.  It gets lots of afternoon sun and is about 3 to 4 feet deep.  There is a gig rock with a waterfall in the middle. Thanks, Savanna

Hi Savanna,

First of all you should use a non toxic paint.

It could be something like pool paint.

I would stick to black or darker blue, as they would bring out the color of the koi.

There should be some shaded area for the fish, and also, you should watch so that the water doesn't get too hot for them.
