Question
Hi,

I am attempting to make a water garden/aquarium.  My idea is to tank a 30
gallon fish tank with some newts and cold water fish and incorporate a
papyrus plant and a lotus plant and perhaps some others to create more of a
pond environment.

I was hoping you could give me some general advice, how you would go
about it, what things to be aware of, planting depth, keeping soil out of the
water, problems with fertilizer and the animals, etc.

Answer
Well Justone this can be done pretty easily. You can use dirt with gravel on top.Just make sure you get plants that live in fully submerged water. You don't want them growing out of the tank. As far as feeding the plants, if its done right they will eat the fish waste. There is a mag called Fresh Water Aquarium that has articles in it like that. If I were you I would google it. Eric
