pond fish dying

Question
hello, we recently moved our pond to a more shaded location in our yard. That was about a month ago and so far we have lost 6 fish all comets. The only survivor is a large butterfly koi. The fish seem fine and then come to the top and stay there a few days later they are dead. Any ideas on what could be happening to my fish? Thanks elizabeth

Answer
Dear Elizabeth,

Thank you for your question.
The answer is more difficult as I cannot see the pond, water or fish itself.
However did you test the water?
Often seen is that due to transports to A new pond also the water quality changes.
When the water quality is to high off from the precious this is a risk, together with the knowledge that new water also takes some time to get stabile.
A side of this info there is also the filter and oxygen.
Diseases themselves are also a risk, especially after moving due to the stress.
I only can give advice as to:
1) check water quality
2) check behavior of the fish and if there are visual issues (white spots, black spots, green areas, do the fish jump, scratch against the walls or rocks hang around the oxygen etc).

Good luck and hope to hear from you soon.

Warm regards,
Raf
