Cockatiel cage size

Question
Hi

Is a cage thats three feet long, two feet tall and two feet wide large enough for four tiels? How far apart should the bars be spaced?

Answer
Yes, that should be a good size for 4 cockatiels. Bar spacing cannot be any larger than 3/4 of an inch.

Are the birds going to be housed indoors or outdoors? If being housed outdoors, a larger cage and smaller bar spacing is needed.

You also would not want to breed the birds in this cage (unless you will be pulling the babies for hand-feeding before they leave the nest box)- because this cage would be too small for 2 clutches of 3 to 5 babies to live in with their parents.

I hope this helps. :)
