Aggressive roosters

Question
Hello, I have been keeping Chickens for
quite some time. I have four laying hens
and three roosters. The roosters are kept seperate from the hens and each-other always. You must have had aggressive roosters while raising
poultry such as chickens. Is there anything
you can do to avoid such Aggression in roosters
to people?

I don't want to hurt the roosters because the
main reasons I keep chickens is for pets, It
was an  that I got three roosters as
I got them when they were chicks and well they
turned out to be roosters.  :(

Can you please tell me if there is anything
you can do to minimize the 'trying to attack'
when you go in their pen to feed them?
Thanks a bunch!
Sorry for the long question but thank
you for trying to answer it.
Bye for now,
Susan.

Answer
Hi,
sorry I have been extremely late in answering your question, it was homecoming week and I have been very busy. As far as aggressive rooster some are jsut that way. Sometimes you'll get the most docile animal in the world and sometimes they are horribly brutal. It can all depend on what breeed you keep as well. Breeds such as mille fluer or leghorn tend to be more vicious than a breed such as a brahma. However, there are always exceptions and once adn a while you'll get a bad apple. The level of aggressiveness can lso change with the seasons. Roosters can be more aggressive in spring and summer because it is breeding season. I have a rooster that is perfectly docile when he is kept away from the hens, but when breeding season comes around and I put them in their pens, Look out. Any way there is now solution really for calming a rooster, just try not to aggravate them and wear long pants when you go in their pen :)

Hope this helped a little bit!
