shoes or not

hi my name is jess, is it better to shoe a horse or it better to just trim their feet?

Hi Jess
We shoe horses for only two reasons.
1) To protect their feet
2) To aid in their movement(primarily show horses).
You must ask yourself what type of terrain you ride most often. Roads, paved or gravel, rocky steep trails or simply the good ole earth. If your answer is the "good ole earth", barefoot is best. If any of the other terrain then you will be doing your horse and yourself a service if you have him shod.
