hi i recently bought a yellow belly'd and an ornate red eared slider. the red eared has flaking skin under his shell and behind his legs is this to do with his diet
nobody can seem to tell me what sort of quantities to feed them either and I'm afraid to over feed there great entertainment any help would be great thank you very much Alan Carr

Diet- a daily serving about the size of the head is about right. There are other ways to figure it, such as what it eats in 15 minutes.

Flaking could be normal shedding- if it looks like little peelings, like a sunburn peel, that is pretty normal. if the shed layers are thicker than that, or if the skin underneath is raw, red, etc.- then you probably should see a vet.
