Question
QUESTION: i changed the water in my red eared slider tank yesterday and since then the turtles eyes are a little cloudyand he has not been very active and is not eating as much as he usually does do u know whats wrong with him and where i can get something to help him.

ANSWER: It would really help to know more- like the size of the turtle, tank size and temps, etc.

Without more information, the best I can do is to suggest that you review the care sheet at http://www.redearslider.com and see if there are some care or diet issues you can fix to better meet the turtle's needs.

In most cases, things like this clear up quickly once the turtle has a good home. A common problem is that the tank is too small and cold- often boosting the size and temps (to 75-80F) helps a lot!

QUESTION: the tank size is 33 gallon and the turtle is about 6 1/2 inches.ive been feeding himnutrafin turtle pellets and wardley krill

Answer
Well...

1. The tank is pretty small for a 6" turtle. I'd like to see it in about 60 gallons of water.

2. If the only food has been rather low-end foods, I would guess that there are some long-term dietary problems- vitamin deficiencies, etc. Here is a link to a better diet page: http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/Care/care.htm

3. Again, you can review the cares at http://www.redearslider.com and see how yours compare. You did not say anything about temps, filtration, lighting, etc. and the site will tell you all you need to know about all of that.

Good luck!
