Question
hi mark,

i have a strange question:
can red ear sliders eat bread, melon, grapes.
thanks

Answer
That is actually a pretty common question. The quick answers are no, no, and no.

Bread- avoid any grains with turtles- many animals, and ALL reptiles, have a hard time digesting grains, even ground up.

Melon and grapes- turtles do not do well with sugar (or fat, salt, milk, and as mentioned, grain.) They don't need fruit even though it is often listed as part of a balanced diet.

Now- while bread is pretty messy, an occasional grape or melon ball is not going to be a problem.

Good luck!
