Greek tortoise run over by vehicle

Question
Hello, our 8 yr. old Greek tortoise was under my husband's
car and he attempted to back up. He heard a scrape and
stopped. The turtle is walking and actually eating but she
has a little bit of bleeding under the abdomen through the
shell, and the shell on either side near the hind legs was
scraped. The bleeding has since stopped and she is walking
fine as before. We want to put something on the shell
scrapes (her shell didn't crack, she's one tough cookie!)and
the vets who are available on Sundays don't treat exotics.
I'm going to continue to watch her and be thankful that she
didn't have a leg or head under the wheel, but I want to
know what to do for this afternoon before I can get her to a
vet on Monday. Please help. Is Neosporin OK? Should I wrap
her in anything? Thank you - Vera.

Answer
Hello I am not a vet but I can tell you that depending on the severity she may have a long road of recovery ahead of her.
There ca nbe internal issues that you can not see.

She needs to have a xray done to see if there is any internal fractures.
Id recommend just confining her until you can get her to a vet and have her completely checked out. Until then I would keep her as calm as you can.
