QuestionI have two turtles Posiedon and Nalu. They are about 8 months old and are YellowBellied sliders. Posiedon won't eat much and Nalu is a hog. But males would fight alot so I don't know what gender each one is. Nalu has really long nails and tail and Posiedon's nails are short but the tail is long. Every 30 mins or so, I see their faces a centimeter apart. Does this mean that they are the same gender, or different, and who is a boy or girl?
AnswerIn general, at 8 months old it is more about domination, territory, acting out, etc. than about sex. That won't happen until about 4-6 years old.
Ditto for the nails and tail- not very helpful until they are reaching sexual maturity.
